News and more news 4/17/19

The most recent news comes out of US News and the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

US News has compiled their most recent data and Huntsville has made the list again. This time Huntsville soared to the top in Most Affordable City for Housing, Best Place to Live in Alabama, and Best Place to Live in the Deep South. US News has also said that Huntsville is the 11th Best Place to Live in the US. has more information as well.

At the University of Alabama-Huntsville, new plans were unveiled for the future of the university. The 58 acres the university purchased across Sparkman Drive from the university in 2017 now has purpose with the plans President Altenkirch has laid out. Included in the plans are shopping, eateries and the new crown jewel, a multipurpose facility for the ice hockey and basketball athletic teams.  According to the article the plans have the full support of the new incoming president, Darren Dawson. The plans will be voted on by the Univ. of Alabama Board of Trustees in June.
