Huntsville Restaurant Week & News

Just a heads up to everyone that Huntsville Restaurant Week starts this Friday 8/15/14 and runs through 8/24/14. Amanda Conger at Our Valley Events and the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau have both done a wonderful job of putting out information on the what's, who's, where's and how much. Our team looks forward to experience all the dishes that these restaurants will be showcasing to the city.

Also coming across the news, specifically WHNT. It looks like there are plans in the works for Stone Middle School to be converted. Part Straight to Ale brewery, part Yellowhammer brewery, part ampitheater, and even Bandito Burrito seems to be interested in taking part. Currently Bandito Burrito has a small location across the road and this certainly would allow them an upgrade in space inside but also parking.

Many New Business opening their doors in the Huntsville Metro Area

With Huntsville's westwards expansion to County Line Road and beyond, new businesses have moved in and have been created.

Rendering by Colonial Properties and Trust, managing Promenade Pointe

Promenade Pointe is a  perfect example of all the businesses starting to flourish.  Promenade Pointe is 1/2 mile East of County Line Road, but West of Balch and lies on 53 acres of land previously annexed by the City of Huntsville.  Currently in the shopping district there is Walmart, Panda Express, Zaxby's, and Car Wash Express.  New and just moving into the Pointe are IHOP, Firestone, and Family Security Credit Union.  Also mentioned moving in are Sports Clips Hair Salon, Stevi B's Pizza, Lisa's Nail and Spa, and Urban Chez Restaurant.  There is also a possibility of having a Verizon Wireless right off of Balch as well.

This was only Phase 1 of the master developers plan for the area.  Phase 2 is said to be on the western end of the development and will be 80,000 sqft of commercial space.  Phase 3 will be an apartment complex on 27 acres.

Today's Tidbit: In a new survey that was just released, the top two Automotive Manufacturing States are Tennessee, and Alabama respectively.  Alabama has risen from #7 to #2 with and expansions of Mercedes Benz, Honda, and Hyundai.

Alabama and Huntsville, Economic Growth & Bagels

The State of Alabama was ranked at Number 5 in the economic growth category for the last three months of 2012 from research by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.  Alabama came behind South Carolina, Nevada, Idaho, and Utah.  Hopefully the path will continue with the good work the state is doing at the state government level and the private ownership level.

The Vermont based bagel chain Bruegger's Bagels has claimed they are going to promote aggressive expansion in the Huntsville Alabama Metro Business Market with a possible six new stores in the region.

Bruegger's Bagels President David Austin: "Huntsville's economy continues to outperform the U.S. economy and our corporate locations in these markets have a loyal following,  We are eager to find franchise partners who will take advantage of this great opportunity to advance their own enterprise and continue Bruegger's Bagels' positive growth in the region."

This is very encouraging news from a jobs standpoint and economic standpoint.

Today's Tidbit:  With the growth of Brueggers and the new eateries going up around the new Madison Hospital, could this lead to more expansion of other eating establishments in both South Huntsville and West Huntsville in Limestone County?
