The Avenue adds to more development in downtown Huntsville

With more construction in the downtown area, the newest story to come out is "The Avenue" by WHNT. The Avenue is being developed by Charlie & Sasha Sealy who also developed Belk Hudson Lofts. According to the article there will be 197 residential lofts & and retail space. The Avenue will join the quickly redeveloping downtown Huntsville scene which recently has included the Belk Hudson Lofts, the Publix shopping complex, The Artisan apartment complex, and the space of the former Holiday Inn downtown across from Big Spring Park, which is currently being turned into a mixed use development. Food Truck Schedule for 2015

Everyone's very busy today, but found this information and wanted to pass it along. The food truck schedule for 2015. It runs from April through October. 12/4/14 - Its December Already

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Everyone has been out helping clients leaving little time to post.  Came across two articles today which were fantastic reads to point out with our short post.

Congratulations to our local schools for winning Blue Ribbons of Excellence. This sort of positive feed back is always great for the students, schools, and community in showcasing the great nature of our area.

Also another great article from AL.com's Kelly Kazek about our local Christmas celebrations in Alabama. Great read of amusement, heart warming, and smiles about our local celebrations. One local month long celebration is the display of trees along the Tinsel Trail. A magnificent downtown attraction with each sponsor putting up a tree and decorating it.

An Amazing Week of Events - 10/10/14

This weekend will be one of the more full weekends of events that include Huntsville Real Estate, historical stories, and wonderful jewelry. There hasn't been a weekend like this in quite a while.  There are three major events going on this weekend:

Parade of Homes
The Parade of Homes covers this weekend and next weekend. This is when all the new construction have their models and pre-built homes ready for the public to walk through. It is also a time when most real estate agents have their homes have open houses as well for the public to come through. It is Fridays and Saturdays, October 11/12 & 18/19.


The Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll
A timeless Huntsville tradition to celebrate its history. The Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll takes place at historical Maple Hill Cemetery in downtown Huntsville. Local celebrities and members of the local populace will be dressed up in period clothing representing their characters. Each character having a strong impact on not only Huntsville, but sometimes the nation. Donations go exclusively to restore Maple Hill Cemetery.


Jewelry, Gem, & Mineral Show
This years (the 46th) show has been moved from its usual location at the VBC to the Jaycees building on Airport Road.  There is free parking, and the organizers ask for a $3 donation. This is always a great time every year. It runs Friday through Sunday.

There is a great amount to do this weekend and plenty to see. Everyone have fun.

Huntsville Restaurant Week & News

Just a heads up to everyone that Huntsville Restaurant Week starts this Friday 8/15/14 and runs through 8/24/14. Amanda Conger at Our Valley Events and the Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau have both done a wonderful job of putting out information on the what's, who's, where's and how much. Our team looks forward to experience all the dishes that these restaurants will be showcasing to the city.

Also coming across the news, specifically WHNT. It looks like there are plans in the works for Stone Middle School to be converted. Part Straight to Ale brewery, part Yellowhammer brewery, part ampitheater, and even Bandito Burrito seems to be interested in taking part. Currently Bandito Burrito has a small location across the road and this certainly would allow them an upgrade in space inside but also parking.

Construction, Renovation, and More

Seems like everywhere you look around Huntsville there's construction and renovation. Over the weekend we took several shots of such activity at Twickenham Square.

Here you can see the new Publix. Beautiful on the inside, with parking across the street in a parking garage. Smaller than regular Publix, but still has a wide variety of products.

Just a few feet down the street you see The Artisan Apartments.

Huntsville made ConventionSouth's magazine's top 16 cities for their 2014 best Southern Hospitalitiy Cities.

This weekend 4/25-4/27 is Panoply 2014!

That's right, Panoply is back once again. And for how great 2013 was for this event (several team members took home some great artwork), we can't wait to see what's available this year.

Dates and Times:

• April 25 Friday: from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m.
• April 26 Saturday: from 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
• April 27 Sunday: from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m

Also per al.com: "Advance tickets ($7.50 per day) for Panoply 2014 are available online via artshuntsville.org until April 25. At the gate, daily admission is $10. Kids 12 and under admitted for free."
